DIEU M'A CRÉÉ pour une tâche précise à son service ; il a m'a confié un travail que moi seul, et nul autre, peux accomplir. J'ai une mission – je peux ne pas la connaître tout au long de cette vie, mais elle me sera révélée dans l'autre. Je suis un maillon d'une chaîne, un lien entre des êtres. Il ne m'a pas créé pour rien. Je ferai le bien, je ferai son travail ; je serai un prédicateur de la vérité, sans pourtant le vouloir, à la place qui est mienne, si seulement je garde ses commandements et le sers par ma vocation.
C'est pourquoi, mon Dieu, je remettrai tout mon être entre vos mains. Qu'ai-je au ciel, et que puis-je vouloir sur terre, sinon vous ? Ma chair et mon cœur défaillent, mais Dieu est le Dieu de mon cœur, et ma part d'héritage pour toujours.
A Prayer of Trust in God
GOD HAS CREATED ME to do Him some definite service; He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission - I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught : I shall do good, I shall do His work ; I shall be a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it, if I do but keep His commandments and serve Him in my calling.
Therefore, my God, I will put myself without reserve into Thy hands. What have I in heaven, and apart from Thee what do I want upon earth ? My flesh and my heart fail, but God is the God of my heart, and my portion for ever.
